PRIVACY POLICY
Effective October 17, 2026
Public information, optional contact, and a clear explanation of browser storage and service-provider processing.
1. Scope and purpose
This Privacy Policy explains how Hedera Watch handles information when you visit its informational website or contact its operator. No account is required to browse the public terminal, news, Council or methodology pages. Administrative sign-in is separate from public browsing and may involve authentication information handled by our hosting provider.
2. Information you choose to provide
The contact form requests a name and message; email and phone are optional. We receive only the information you choose to include in that form. Do not send passwords, private keys, seed phrases, financial account credentials or sensitive personal information.
We use contact submissions to read and respond to your inquiry, address issues you report and maintain necessary correspondence. Submitting a message does not enroll you in a newsletter or marketing list. Messages are stored with our service provider and may be forwarded to the operator by email.
3. Browsing, tracking and technical information
We use Base44’s built-in traffic analytics to understand visitor counts, repeat visits, traffic over time, approximate visitor countries and current live activity. Analytics can process browser or session identifiers, page views, timestamps, referrers and technical information such as IP addresses to produce these reports. Unique-visitor counts are estimates, not verified counts of individual people: different browsers, cleared storage, privacy controls and shared devices can affect them. Country estimates can also be affected by VPNs, proxies and mobile networks.
Our custom session logger records a random per-tab session identifier, visited public page paths, timestamps, page counts, elapsed session duration, approximate active time, device category, screen size, language, referrer origin and country. The browser sends user-agent information to classify the device, but the new custom session records do not store the full user-agent string. Your browser requests a country estimate from api.country.is, which receives your IP address to provide that estimate. For location, our logger stores only the country name and code, not your IP address, city, state, ISP or visitor coordinates. If the country lookup fails, the session is recorded with an unknown country rather than an invented location. Country-center globe markers are public reference coordinates, not visitor locations. Logging pauses while the tab is hidden and excludes administrative and authentication pages. We do not use contact details for behavioral advertising.
Hosting, network, security and other service providers may also process IP addresses, request timestamps, browser information, operational logs or essential cookies to deliver and protect the site. Third-party services process technical information under their own policies.
4. Information stored on your device
Your browser may retain your theme preference, news read/unread state, a short cache of public network readings and the HBAR amount you type into the holdings calculator. These features use local storage for on-device functionality, not an account or server-side holdings profile. The calculator does not connect to a wallet or exchange account. The custom session logger stores its random session identifier in session storage for the browser tab. Built-in analytics may also use browser or session storage to distinguish visits and estimate unique visitors. You can remove stored values through your browser’s site-data settings; doing so resets the relevant preferences and can affect visitor counts.
5. External data feeds, media and links
The site requests public market and network data and may load external fonts, logos, images and YouTube embeds. When your browser connects directly to a provider, that provider can receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details and may use its own cookies. Following a news, social or source link takes you to a separate service. Those providers’ privacy policies and access rules apply; we do not control their collection practices.
6. Service providers and disclosures
We use Base44 for hosting, application storage, traffic analytics and related services, including delivery of contact notifications. Country estimation is provided by api.country.is as described above. Custom session records and country activity reports are restricted to authorized site administrators, not public visitors. Relevant providers process information needed to operate those services. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect safety or legal rights, or in connection with a lawful transfer of the site, subject to applicable protections. We do not sell contact submissions or share them for targeted advertising. Providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to applicable legal requirements.
7. Retention, legacy records and security
Contact messages and correspondence are kept only as reasonably necessary to handle the inquiry, maintain relevant records, meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. Earlier versions used more detailed visitor-session logging; those historical records are not automatically erased by changing the logger to country-only collection, but city and state information is no longer displayed in the session reports. The globe’s 30-day reporting window is not a retention limit and does not itself delete older custom session records. Built-in analytics reports are subject to the analytics provider’s applicable retention policies. Requests about any retained personal information can be made through Contact.
We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no website, email system or storage method is completely secure. Deletion requests are subject to necessary legal retention and routine backup limitations.
8. Your choices and privacy requests
You may choose not to submit the contact form, omit optional details, clear browser storage or restrict third-party cookies using browser controls. Clearing browser storage can reset analytics identifiers, but does not delete records already stored on the server or automatically opt out of future analytics. Contact us to request deletion of retained personal information. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict use of personal information, withdraw consent where processing relies on it, or complain to your local supervisory authority. Use the Contact page to make a request; we may need reasonable verification before acting. Legal bases, where required, include responding to your requested correspondence, legitimate interests in understanding aggregate traffic, operating and securing the site, and compliance with legal obligations, with consent where applicable law requires it.
9. Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly solicit their personal information. If you believe a child has supplied personal information, contact us so we can address it in accordance with applicable law.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the site or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Please review it periodically. For questions about this policy or information you have supplied, contact the Hedera Watch operator through the Contact page.
